Fernhill is strategically located as a touring point for some of the most popular tourist venues in Ireland. Cobh is just 15 minutes away and can be accessed by ferry, it boasts 101 visitor attractions in its own right. In 2009 fifty four cruise liners are booked to berth at the Cobh Cruise Terminal. The Cruise season will begin on 15th April with the Black Watch, the first liner of the season, due to berth in Cobh. Many of these will stay overnight including The Independence of the Seas. Fota Wildlife Park is in the vicinity of Cobh and can be accessed via the same ferry. It is one of the most popular visitor attractions in Ireland.
The area is steeped in tradition – Cork, Carrigaline, the Royal Cork Yacht Club, Crosshaven, Kinsale, Midleton.
